So I compiled some recordings I’ve been sitting on for years – mostly cover songs and sketches – all recorded on the same mashed up acoustic guitar (£10 from a washing machine shop in Frizinghall, Bradford) The action is about 1/2 an inch high and I think that’s what gives it that big bass sound.
The tape itself (ltd to 60 copies) is released alongside a fanzine paying homage to Karen Dalton (who’s album “Green Rocky Road” I adore) and can be bought direct from Synchronize Witches’ Website.
But if you just want to stream or buy the download, you can listen via my bandcamp:
so here’s the record – finally! It’s an LP – not a double, as I had originally intended. I decided to condense it for maximum intensity.
It’s been pressed, the covers are ready, and the prints for the special edition are almost finished…The official release date is Sunday 9th September, when the full album will be available for streaming from Early Music Record’s bandcamp page, + the vinyls to be posted out soon after.
It has been an epic journey – thank you for your patience!
I feel privileged to have been invited to contribute a piece for this touring exhibition by FOLKLORE TAPES in association with the “Museum of Witchcraft and Magic“. Participants were given an index card of an object lost from the museum’s collection and asked to re-create it. Look out for THE ART OF MAGIC as it will tour various venues including THE HORSE HOSPITAL and MWM with performances from various folklore tapes allumni. Here are a few shots of the exhibition:
very excited to have been invited to play his live cinema event in sheffield:
“…Amy Cutler to re-invent the heroes, villains, sounds and spaces of nature broadcasts. We’ll travel through submerged volcanoes, bio-luminescence, flocking birds and swarming insects, accompanied by new performances, from live drone laments to the conducting of “feral singing” by the audience.”
